The Heart of Borneo expedition lead you to untouched cloud rain forest in North Kalimantan. This almost unhabitat area, is covered with totaly virgin dense jungle, after the river rapids, some small settlements of Dayak Tribes live isolated, with the spiritual believes and natural freedom in the forest.

JUNGLE DISCOVERY HEART of BORNEO

Tour Duration 09 Days / 08 Nights

Day 01: TARAKAN (D)
Upon arrival at Tarakan, meeting service, transfer to Hotel for dinner and overnight, evening free at own leisure.

Day 02: TARAKAN, PULAU SAPI (BLD)
Breakfast, then we drive to the harbor to board the speedboat for our trip to Malinau (3 hours), on the way you can when lucky you can see the fresh water dolphins and Long nose Monkeys along the delta of Sesayap River. Upon arrival at Malinau, we will continue our trip by car to Pulau Sapi for about 3 hours, Lunch on the way, dinner and overnight at guesthouse.

Day 03: PULAU SAPI, LONG BERANG, JUNGLE TREK (BLD)
After simple breakfast, we proceed to the harbor, for boarding a Longboat to continue our journey into the deep Jungle of Borneo, a 5 to 6 hours cruise upsteam to Mentarang River, on the way passing the rapids, and the Jungle will appear along the river banks, overnight at homestay in Long Berang village.

Day 04: LONG BERANG, JUNGLE TREK, NANGSARANG (BLD)
After breakfast, today we start our trek, a two days full day jungle trek from Long Berang to Nangsarang, as the next village in the middle of most remote Borneo Island. During our jungle trek we can enjoy the untouched nature, from wild animals, and the beauty of the flora, which is surrounding us, and bring us a step closer to the extreme jungle adventure ahead, as a test-case to stand the survival rain forest. Overnight at Jungle Camp, Meals will be prepaired on the way.

Day 05 - 07: NANGSARANG, JUNGLE TREK, LONG PALA (BLD)
Simple Breakfast, before we continue the expedition jungle trek through the highlands clouded primary rain forest of Borneo, we will crossing rivers, deep valleys, and trekking the mountains as a routine activity, in the most remote undiscovered jungle of Borneo. Meals will be prepared by hunt or fishing on the way, Overnights at Prepared Jungle Camp

Day 08: LONG PALA, PULAU SAPI, MALINAU (BLD)
Simple breakfast at our host in Long Pala Village before we prepare our journey downstream the river, with a beauty scenery of vast jungle the longboat navigate us through the rapids. Lunch at Pulau Sapi, before we continue by car to Malinau, for overnight at a guesthouse, evening free at own leisure

Day 09: MALINAU, TARAKAN (BL)
After Breakfast, free at leisure till departure time to harbor for our speedboat journey to Tarakan, upon arrival at the harbor of Tarakan, transfer to Tarakan airport (flight after 2pm) or hotel, from where you can continue your journey to your next destination.

Heart Of Borneo Travel Facts

The Heart of Borneo trek is leading you through unfoot-printed jungle of the highest quality found at Kalimantan, steep hills, and dozens of rivers have to be crossed. The Jungle area is totally unhabited and un-explored, till we reach the highlands of Krayan where about a 2000 families live totally isolated along the Malaysian Border side. During the trek simple camps will be made, while we hunt for fish and meat along the way.
