Sangalaki Island Resort
Several island are found along the East Kalimantan coast which make attractive dive and leisure destination. Among them are Derawan, Samama, Sangalaki, Maratua, Nabucco and Panjang. All those islands can be reached from Tanjung Redeb / Berau.
Sangalaki Island
Sangalaki is am attractive beach leisure and dive destination, and known for the huge manta rays that come here to feed themeself with the plankton. The Manta 's are often seen at the surface waterline at the north part of the island, tourist can easy snorkel or swim with these elegant moving huge Manta creatures with the size of up to two meters.Sangalaki island has rich coral reefs ridges from 4 to 40 meters deep with gorgonian sea fans and reef fishes, as the scorpionfishes, jawfishes, mandarin fishes, frogfishes and ribbon eels.
Sangalaki is famous of it's breeding ground of the green turtles. Sangalaki houses a Turtle Foundation that ensures to lay their eggs as a beach future safeguard, visitors who like to spot the Turtles, are advised to overnight at the Island Resort to spot the dozens of turtles come ashore at night to lay their eggs, and see the small baby turtles find their way from the beach to the sea
Nabucco Island Resort
On the west side of East Kalimantan, The Indonesian Part of the world’s third largest island, called "Borneo", you can find a clear blue lagoon of paradise. Diving programs to Sangalaki or Kakaban Islands give you the occasion to swim with elegant mantas.
Diving around Sangalaki and Kakaban is thrilling with at the Barracuda Point and the colourful wall of Gorganian Forrest. Kakaban Island has a saltwater lake inside where jellyfish can be explored.

Derawan Island
Derawan Island has to total land surface of 40,000 hectares and is nature reserve with beautiful scenery and beaches. Several species of rare flora and fauna are preserved here, such as scaled turtles, belimbing turtles and sea cows.This Island is occupied by Bajau people. It's sea gardens are beautiful . Its coastal forests are inhabited by sea birds, iguanas, and swallows. There are caves inhabited by various kinds of crabs. The waters around Derawan are good for swimming, fishing, scuba diving, and other water sports. Rabu-rabu Island is near Derawan, and is also called Snake Island. There are also Tanjung Batu, Panjang, and Kakaban Island, the latter with lakes.
